We successfully ship live crickets to customers year round.  We take great care in packaging and processing your orders.  Please read the following carefully so you have a full understanding of our LIVE GUARANTEE and what is required to qualify for a credit or a reshipment.  Please understand, you are ordering a live product and special care must be taken on your end to ensure you receive the product the way we want every order to arrive: alive and healthy.

SHIPMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN PERSON ON THE FIRST DELIVERY ATTEMPT

Please have your shipment sent to an address where someone will be able to receive the shipment in person and remove the crickets from the shipping box immediately upon arrival to inspect for loss or damage.  This is ESPECIALLY important during the winter months when crickets need to be warmed immediately upon arrival or they will not revive from the trauma of cold weather shipping.

We understand that the shipping carriers often do not stop and wait for a signature when delivering to residential addresses.  We suggest you talk to your driver and/or put a note on the door prior to delivery which states that you are expecting a LIVE shipment and are REQUIRED to sign in order to have a LIVE GUARANTEE.  Most drivers will knock and wait for a signature, however, they are not required to do so by their companies.

We provide a tracking number for every shipment so you can know what day to expect your package.  On the day you are expecting your live shipment, check the tracking information and your front door (or wherever your delivery carrier leaves your shipments) frequently for delivery.  If you are home and the delivery carrier has left your shipment without knocking we will make an exception to this requirement provided we receive an email within one hour of the delivery.  The shipping companies are very accurate when recording times and location of deliveries and we track each shipment when a claim is made. 

COLD WEATHER SHIPPING - TEMPERATURES MUST BE ABOVE 25oF

Please remember, you are choosing to ship a LIVE product. It is the customer's responsibility to decide if conditions are appropriate for a LIVE GUARANTEE on the delivery end of the shipment.  If the temperatures for the week are never above 25oF where you are expecting delivery of your shipment, please DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER.  If you place an order when the conditions are not appropriate for a live shipment, we are unable to guarantee live delivery. 

We reserve the right to hold shipments until conditions in our area are appropriate for live shipments.  You can check our local weather on any national weather website.  The zip code from which the crickets are shipping is 49002.  If we choose to hold orders, you will be contacted via email with the expected shipping date.  When your order is processed you will be sent a tracking number. 

WINTER WARM UP PROCEDURE

If you receive a shipment  which appears to be dead during the cold season, please follow our winter warm up procedure immediately upon delivery.  Crickets are cold blooded and will take on the temperature of their surroundings. Under most circumstances the crickets will be able to be warmed from this cold/dormant state.

  • Remove crickets from the shipping box(es) immediately upon delivery.  DO NOT leave inside the cardboard boxes in a warm room.  The boxes act as an insulator and the crickets are not warmed fast enough.
  • Place your crickets in their holding tank.  Spread them around so they are not in one heap.
  • Place a heating pad under and/or a heat lamp over the holding tank.
  • Warm them up for a minimum of 4 hours. 
  • Provide plenty of FRESH WATER. 
  • Under most circumstances the crickets should revive from their cold state.

HOT WEATHER SHIPPING - TEMPERATURES MUST BE BELOW 90oF
